I have done some research and my little understanding of keypad scanning is that the shiftin value of input column should return zero (0) when a keypad button all i need is to track the zero value when a key is pressed and then scan the keys matrix to display the pressed key. The keypad code, however, is not running as i expect. Now in order to identify the key pressed on keypad, first we need to set the rows as output and cols as i am using stm32f103c8 microcontroller and the keypad is a membrane switch 4×4 matrix actually it does not matter which keypad you use or how many keys it have. In matrix keypad, keys are connected in rows and columns.
